The Dark Knight Rises (2012)
Christopher Nolan’s third Batman movie is forgettable entertainment that keeps going for 2 hours, 44 minutes. Christian Bale’s Batman voice and villain Tom Hardy (Bane) are nearly inaudible. As Catwoman, Anne Hathaway is no Michelle Pfeiffer.

Alice in Wonderland (2010)
Tim Burton imagines a new wonderland — where Alice is 19, on the verge of a lifeless marriage and Johnny Depp (Mad Hatter) and Helena Bonham Carter (Red Queen) steal scene after scene. Stunning makeup and costumes accent the feminist allegory.
