Easy A (2010)
Screenwriter Bert V. Royal’s loose high school adaptation of “The Scarlet Letter” isn’t quite as smart as he thinks it is, but Emma Stone is a charming smartass. She leads a fun, breezy 90 minutes, complete with knowing nods to those cheesy John Hughes films.

The Unborn (2009)
The clichéd horror film exploits a heroine in skimpy underwear, the Holocaust and creepy little children to minimal effect and ends with the straight-faced assurance that “no actual Torah scrolls were destroyed or damaged in the making of this motion picture.”
